Smart City is the new trend of development of cities around the globe and is the fresh concept and mode that employs the Internet of Things, cloud computing, big data, spatial geographic information and other new-generation information technologies to make the urban planning, construction, management and services smarter. Driving the building of smart city constitutes an essential requirement of deepening and implementing the construction of beautiful Tianjin and is also an important move adopted by Tianjin to accelerate the implementation of innovation-driven strategies and smooth progress of transformation, it is of great significance to driving the concurrent development of new-type urbanization, industrialization, informationization and agricultural modernization and enhancing the sustainability capacity of Tianjin in every aspect.
"Smart Jinnan" is one of the state-level first batch of pilot smart cities. Relying on the Internet of Things, cloud computing, three-network integration and other new-generation information technologies and focusing on smart applications and cloud data, the Project aims at building such three platforms as economic monitoring, urban management and citizen services and realizing the full coverage of all networks in Jinnan District by using smart industry, smart management and smart livelihood, so as to accumulate experience for the building of “Smart Tianjin” and provide solid guarantee for scientific and sustainable development of Jinnan District.
Smart Public Security
Covering the entire city, Tianjin Combat Command Platform is the "smart" carrier of the Combat Command System of Tianjin Public Security Bureau and provides the information backup for comprehensive intelligence, joint command, combined action and total-process guarantee of the Combat Command System.
Smart Traffic Management
Modular design of and regulation over the signal system at the crossroad effectively improves the road capacity of intersections and mitigates the pressure of road traffic in Tianjin. Meanwhile, the Project adopts many video intelligent technologies, e.g., license plate recognition, vehicle video detection, vehicle video tracking, to perform composite detection of vehicle, and realizes such functions as tollgate-through records, noncompliant behavior detection, video monitoring and traffic parameter acquisition, providing powerful basis for the monitoring of illegal behaviors.
The infrastructure network construction project of new campus of Tianjin University involves the carrier network, wired network, wireless network and network operation center, setting an illustrative example for other colleges and universities nationwide to build the three-dimensional public security prevention and control system.
